Cecilia Cheung

Co-Director of the Girls at Risk School

Hi! I’m Cecilia. I was born in Malaysia and grew up in Edmonton, Canada.

My family and I moved to Niger in 2006 and life has been quite the adventure ever since. I love the gracious Nigerien people, their colourful culture and the fact that I can wear flip flops year round!

I am a marketer by training and worked in industrial marketing prior to joining the C&MA. I earned both my Bachelor of Commerce Degree and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Alberta.

It is my desire to walk alongside women and their families; helping to raise their standard of living through the many facets of education so that they can live better lives, physically and spiritually. I count it a privilege, therefore, to be able to teach French literacy and numeracy as well as small business classes at the Niger Vocational Centre.

My husband Ace and I have two lovely daughters, Elise and Iyla. In my spare time, I like to draw, make pottery and hang out with my family and friends.
